1.Accepting these terms

By using riverrwizicharityconservation.org you agree to these terms. If you create an account, make a donation, or join as a member, you will be asked to confirm that agreement explicitly before the action completes.

If you do not agree with something here, please do not use the site — and do tell us why, because we would rather fix an unreasonable term than lose the conversation.

2.Using the site

You may read, quote, print and share anything on this site. What you may not do is fairly short:

• Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its database, or the accounts of other users.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Do not use automated systems to scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other people. If you want the data, ask us — we will usually just give it to you.
• Do not represent yourself as speaking for this organisation when you are not.

3.Accounts

Some parts of the site require an account: member areas, donor histories, and administrative access. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your account.

Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We may suspend an account where we reasonably believe it has been compromised or is being used to break these terms.

4.Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts and, once processed, are generally non-refundable. We will nonetheless refund a genuine error , a duplicated payment, a mistyped amount, a transaction you did not authorise, if you tell us within 30 days. Write to us and we will sort it out.

Where you restrict a gift to a particular programme, we will honour that restriction. If that programme is fully funded or discontinued, we will contact you before applying your gift elsewhere.

Recurring donations continue until you cancel them. You can cancel at any time from your donor account or by emailing us, and cancellation takes effect before the next scheduled payment.

Costs quoted on the donate page (for example, what a seedling costs) are honest averages that include follow-up monitoring, not per-item prices. Your specific gift is not tracked to a specific seedling, and we will not pretend otherwise.

5.Membership

Membership runs for the period you pay for and renews only if you chose automatic renewal. We will email you before any automatic renewal is taken.

Membership confers the benefits listed on the membership page. It does not confer ownership, a share in the organisation, or a right to direct its programmes. Members may attend and speak at the annual general meeting.

We may end a membership, refunding the unused portion, where a member acts in a way that is incompatible with our safeguarding policy or brings the organisation into disrepute.

6.Content and copyright

Text, data and original illustrations on this site are our copyright and are released for reuse under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 — use them, including commercially, as long as you credit us. We would rather this material circulated than sat behind a restriction.

Photographs are a separate matter. Several images on this site were taken by other people and are used under their own licences, which are named beside each photograph. Those licences travel with the image; our permission does not extend to them.

Our name and logo are not covered by the above. Please do not use them in a way that suggests we endorse something we have not.

7.Accuracy of what we publish

We try hard to be accurate and we cite sources. Environmental data changes, our own estimates get revised, and published research sometimes disagrees with itself. Figures described as internal estimates have not been externally audited and should be treated accordingly.

If you find something wrong on this site, tell us. We will correct it and note that we did, rather than editing quietly.

8.Liability

We provide this site in good faith but without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

9.Links to other sites

We link to research, government sources and partner organisations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

10.Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The review date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
